If you want your ideas to be heard and help shape future services and activities across West Dunbartonshire, come along to the Community Alliance Conference in Clydebank Town Hall on Saturday February 22 and find out more.

In recent years more local people are setting up new groups and activities across Dumbarton, the Vale and Clydebank.

From gardening groups taking control of empty plots of land, to local charities raising funds to buy their own properties, adapting them to suit the needs of their members to community-run media organisations - it's all happening in West Dunbartonshire.

Guest speakers from the local community will share their experiences of launching new ventures and representatives from West Dunbartonshire Council will provide information about the Community Empowerment Act.

This Scottish Government legislation aims to make it easier for local communities to take control of derelict properties, access funding and get their voices heard.

And the Community Alliance Conference will explain how you can get involved.

The event will also give attendees the chance to find out more about West Dunbartonshire Council’s Community Empowerment Strategy and Action Plan and there will be workshops on Community Empowerment, Community Planning and the Community Alliance.

The Community Alliance Conference runs from 9.30am - 3pm. Lunch is provided, transport and creche facilities are available on request.
